Very Good Laptop, May 13, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: ASUS A53Z-AS61 15.6-Inch Laptop (Mocha) (Personal Computers) Laptop feels solid, keypad feels very robust. I love that this model comes with usb3 support. I have no intention of running demanding 3d games on this laptop but it runs my productivity tasks very very well. the bloatware that comes with it slows it down so i will have to format this machine eventually. Overall, this is a great laptop, its quad core, 750 GB hard drive and the radeon graphics rns hd videos effortlessly. i highly recommend it.
Oh and the "ice cool" feature really works. my laptop is not burning my hands, its very cool

I have put this thru its paces and came out looking good. If you don't intend to make any changes to the hardware you will find this powerful PC with respectable battery life at max> 5 hours and min>3 hours. The Radeon 6520GB has a dedicated 512MB of DDR3 RAM allowing for decent low to mid range gaming. Chief Architect and Adobe has pushed the APU more than anything. At one point CA locked it up for about 3 minutes pushing all 4 cores 100%.
Now, if you are like me and intend to mod this out and spend a couple hundred dollars on RAM and an SSD then this is a killer machine for the money. I fly thru multiple processes with the 16GB ram. Stepped down its running at CL=8. Locking the APU at 2.8GHz brings up the core temps to about 105F at idle and 120-160F under load. Having a fan cooler is a must if you plan on O'clocking.

MW3 runs @720p no lag medium high settings. Tested NFS The Run (Frostbite 2 engine) works on medium low settings. Its not a gaming laptop but its excellent for the price. 750GB HDD is plenty of space. Steal of a deal for such a price. Build quality is solid.. looks great.. ASUS - enough said. Best laptop in its price range.
